Please check out the CALENDAR page to see when I am planning on shearing in your area in the spring...
EXCITING NEWS!! I have joined forces with another wonderful lady shearer named Kristen Rosser. She is just starting out on her own shearing journey but we have decided to work together this spring to give her experience as well as make it easier for us to get your animals shorn in a timely fasion. I am very excited to have her on board:)

Welcome! My name is Emily Chamelin and I have been shearing sheep for the last 10 years. I grew up on a dairy farm in Maryland and my interest in animals quickly led me to raising sheep and learning about all aspects of their care. Shearing soon became not only a challenge but also a great source of enjoyment for me and has quickly evolved into a very productive career. Over the last few years, primarily through word of mouth, I have been able to grow my shearing business to include farmers from all over Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey and West Virginia and have worked on all mannor of sheep breeds as well as Angora Goats. My primary goal in doing this job is to provide fiber animal owners with a high quality and affordable shearing experience. I strive to shear every animal in a calm, controlled mannor, limiting cuts and nicks, and doing my part to provide the owner with high quality fleece and fiber and a good experience.
New for 2013
After sitting down and reviewing my schedule for the last year I feel it is nessesary to remind people of a few things. I shear for close to 400 people during the course of a spring which means I have to fit in an average of 4 stops EVERY DAY to accomodate everyone. This means I really need everyones help to make sure we can get everyones animals done well and on time:) I will remind people to look over my "Shearing Day Reminders" page to make sure you and your animals are ready to go when I arrive. I plan many of my stops pretty close together during the busy season so if you do not have your animals in and ready to go when I arrive it only makes me late to everyone else that day. Because of the frequency of this occurance I am unfortunately faced with either raising prices for everyone or adding a fine to frequent offenders. I have chosen to do the latter and hope that this helps keep us all on schedule and working together, especially since many of you also have tight schedules and other obligations. I am imposing a $25 additional fee if your animals are not penned up before I arrive or if I see you feeding your animals before they are shorn (this includes being out on pasture!!!) I apoligize for any inconvinience this may cause but hope that I never have to do this more then once to anyone. Thank you for understanding... :)
*I am no longer shearing Llamas, Alpacas or crossbred angora goats (ie pygoras, nygoras, cashgoras etc...) If you have any questions or concerns or need a referal I would be more then happy to connect you with a shearer who is equiped to handled these animals.*
Chamelin Sheep and Shearing Services was started to provide the highest quality shearing job for all fiber animal owners. I began shearing about 10 years ago, after aquireing a few 4-H lambs. Since then I have continued to learn and fine tune my craft to become a proficient and well respected member of the sheep shearing community.
Shearing is not the only service that I am able to provide for flock owners though. I am also able to provide any number of the following options to owners including:
